What are the heating instructions?

All of our tamale packages have the heating instructions. Also located below.

Tamales may be heated from a frozen or thawed state. To thaw frozen tamales, place in refrigerator for 1 day.

STEAMING: Place tamales inside steamer. Make sure water level stays below tamales. Stand tamales upright when steaming several at a time. For 1-4 frozen tamales cover and steam for approx. 25 minutes. For 5 or more tamales cover and steam for 35-40 minutes. For thawed tamales (any amount) cover and steam for 20 minutes.

MICROWAVING: Wrap 1 frozen tamale in damp paper towel and heat for approximately 3:30-4:00 minutes or wrap thawed tamale in damp paper towel and heat for approximately 2:00-2:30 minutes. For 2 frozen tamales warp in paper towel and heat for 7 minutes.
